Designed by Paul Alexander, a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and dedicated knife enthusiast, the NAND brings a fresh perspective to the SLIPIT family of non-locking folding knives. Its unique design features a tail that extends from the blade’s pivot-end when closed, enabling one-handed opening in a manner reminiscent of a classic straight razor. Once deployed, the innovative Ball Joint Non-Locking Mechanism uses twin ball-bearing detents to hold the blade in place. Combined with the grip-enhancing tail and ergonomic finger choils, this provides a secure, safe handling experience. The NAND’s full-flat-ground blade is crafted from M398 stainless steel, featuring Spyderco’s Trademark Round Hole for easy access. Precision-machined titanium handle scales and a reversible deep-carry wire clip make this knife fully ambidextrous, with left or right-side tip-up carry options.
